We host various web-sites for our clients, including our own extranet which our clients use to upload/track projects through production.
Perhaps the most innovative of these is our on-line corrections submission web-site. The purpose of this is not only to reduce paper and postage usage but to reduce the correction cycle time and therefore the article to publish date. The process works by replacing the PDF delivery via email with an email link to a web-page which will give access to the authors PDF only. Within the Web-page the author can add their corrections through a comment box. Once all corrections have been identified, they are submitted to our database and sent either to our production or to the publishing to collate the corrections. From here the corrections are incorporated into the page.
We are currently collaborating with various publishers at methods in which our in-house developed ART can be used to replace the need for viewing a PDF and if it is possible for the author to make correction to the page.
